The king of Urhobo Afrobeat music, Mr. King Enakpodia, says he released a special song for the members of the Urhobo Progress Union (UPU) Ohio, America, because of their immense contributions to the advancement of the Urhobo nation even as he noted that the love, unity, and the cohesion among the members are commendable.

Enakpodia, who made this known in a chat with The Urhobo Voice, said that the members of UPU Ohio have shown great determination to promote Urhobo culture, adding that they have made Urhobo nation proud in Ohio.

He said that his song for the members of UPU Ohio is to encourage them to do more by showcasing Urhobos to the world, adding that they have been supporting each other till date.

He stated that the UPU members in Ohio organized a fundraising and end-of-the-year party recently and it was very successful, adding that his special song is also to appreciate the members for their good work and they should sustain the tempo.

“I am happy to identify with the members of UPU Ohio. I am a promoter of Urhobo culture and my music is solidly anchored on standard Urhobo language. Without mincing words, the president of UPU, Ohio, Dr. (Mrs.) Louisa Ukochovera is a symbol of Urhobo culture. She has used her leadership skills for the unity and the betterment of the members.”

He added: “When you have an intelligent leader at the helm of affairs, things will run smoothly and seamlessly. Ukochovera has all it takes to transform the union. I will continue to use my music to support the members of UPU Ohio because of their passion to uplift the Urhobo nation. Let us continue to do all we can to boost the cultural heritage and the socio-economic growth of the Urhobo nation.
